We know many of you are coming long distances, so we want to make it easy for you to plan some sightseeing! We created a Google Map with popular attractions, mostly around our part of the state, but also along likely routes of travel. Common themes found on the map are summarized below.
Elkton has five phenomenal wine tasting rooms, and we are just a short drive from many more Umpqua Valley wineries to the south. King Estate, one of Oregon's largest wineries, is also a nearby neighbor to the north. We marked some other wineries along probable tour routes, but there are MANY more not listed.
The Elkton Community Education Center has a replica of Fort Umpqua, a butterfly program and flight room and nature walk.
The Umpqua River is great for swimming, floating and fishing. There are many access points around the Elkton area.
Elkton is just a 30-minute drive from Reedsport and the Oregon Dunes, but there is a lot of coastline to explore. To the south lies the world famous Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. Lighthouses smatter the coastline, and most routes to and from have wineries to visit.
Run on Prefontaine's Trail, tour the University of Oregon campus, or visit one of several great breweries.
Portland has great food, drink, art and entertainment. It's close to the beautiful Multnomah Falls, as well as many world-famous Willamette Valley Wineries.
